- Beginning and Intermediate modules take place over 4 consecutive days: Friday-Monday.
- Advanced Modules take place over 6 consecutive days - dates and locations vary
The training is structured to enable cohorts of students to train together through Beginning and Intermediate levels to enhance their learning experience.
It typically takes 2.5 to 3 years of training to become a Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioner (SEP).
Certification involves attending the training, completing practice sessions, attending individual and case consultations and working with Approved Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioners for first-hand experience of the modality.
Refer to Somatic Experiencing International website for more information.
We know that "life happens". Training participants are permitted to "miss" attending one module in the Beginning year and one module in the Intermediate year. SE students are required to review the module (via an online link) to the SE material prior to the subsequent training module. In addition, reflection questions need to be completed, submitted, and approved prior to the next module.
The training venues vary and the location will be posted on the SE portal.

Case consultation fees are significantly reduced during in-person SE trainings. Fees for case consultations in between modules will vary according to the provider.
Personal session fees are significantly reduced during in-person SE trainings. Fees for personal sessions in between modules will vary according to the provider.
Once you have completed your requirements, send all of your Personal Session and Case Consultation logs to SEI. SE Master classes as well as webinars are great resources to add to your embodiment toolbox. Being a member of the SEI community means you will be informed about upcoming workshops and Post-SE trainings.
Upon successful completion of the module each participant will be given a certificate of completion signed by the faculty. It is your responsibility to ensure that you keep this in a secure location, as it may be required to transfer to a different cohort. or by SEI when assessing your application to become an SEP. If you have lost your certificates and request a re-issue, there may be a $50 administrative fee associated with this request.
Sessions completed prior to the beginning of your SE training do not qualify for credit. All sessions completed during your training with Approved SE Practitioners (at your level of training) will count towards your SEP designation.
